HOW IT WORKS

I have found that a successful project starts with a detailed and thoughtful process. I’ve created a framework called my 3-D Design System that I use for both branding and website design. 

 

It’s a two-phase, highly collaborative and detailed process where I do the work but you are involved in key decisions.

 

Each phase involves a period of prep and strategy, followed by two design days we set apart so we can focus on your project.

In this step, we will lay the foundation that we will build your brand from by digging into strategy. This is a crucial element that is key to making brand decisions that will attract your perfect-fit client. I have a list of questions designed to draw out the answers from you that I need to get meaningful information.

 

This involves:

 

  • Getting very clear on who your ideal client is and their values, wants, fears and struggles. This is much more nuanced than “I work with heart-centered women in health and wellness” 

  • Clarity on your core message and positioning of your offer so you understand how to separate yourself out in your crowded space.

  • Clarify on your brand personality - Laying the groundwork for the distinct visual style that your brand will take on.

Before we design a website we need to set our strategy. 

You'll fill out a questionnaire to help me better understand your business and your goals. 

We think through who your visitors are, what they want, and exactly the actions we want visitors to take on your site.

When it comes to websites, it’s all math

 

A well-branded and strategic website will make money if done right. 

 

Typical conversion rates on a website are 1-3 percent. (A conversion is when someone does something on your site that you want them to do, such as buy a digital product, book a call, or sign up for a freebie).

The sad thing is, many people’s websites are not converting at all. They could convert at 5-10 percent if done right. 

Just to give you a conservative example:

 

Your site gets 200 views per month

It converts at 1 percent, so you book 2 calls a month

Typical conversion rate of calls are 50 percent, so you book one client a month.

 

Imagine:

Your traffic stays the same, but we redesign your site and it increases your conversion rate to 3 percent.

So now you book six calls and three clients

 

An increase of 2 percent means 24 extra clients a year. The value of 24 clients is your ROI of your investment.

Imagine what that could do for your business. 
 
Now imagine these numbers are bigger. 

So what about branding?

Liquid Death sells something that comes out of your tap - for free. Not only that, it's something many other brands sell: water. 

However, they dug deep and went all in on creating a unique, eye catching brand that their ideal customers could rally around.

And it worked. 

They have build a cult-like following.

Not to mention, it is now valued at $1.4 billion. Talk about ROI.

Have a pressing question you need answered before booking? Below is a list of the most common questions I get. If for some reason you don’t see your question, just reach out and book a strategy call here and we can talk through it.

How do I know that my site will get the ROI you talk about? You have already built a business that has reached a level of success - what makes you think fine tuning your online process won't have an ROI? There are certain design, sales, and strategy principals when put to play, work for any service-based business. Many of these occur at a detailed level. I am specialized in recognizing those elements and putting them together for my clients. That said, once we conclude our work together, it’s your job to get it out there. If you don’t bring traffic, that ROI might not occur. I provide a guide to help you do that well. I have seen clients do well with even low levels of traffic. The type of client I work with tends to be ambitious and all-in on making their business work. So they do the marketing needed of them. Even if it’s not perfect, it grows their business. I have seen again and again that a cohesive brand and strategic website make marketing much easier and help book more clients faster.

How long do these projects take? Each VIP phase can take as short as two weeks of prep, and the two-day intensive. However, we can map out the timeline to what makes sense for our schedules, what you need to gather your assets, and do your homework. It is also subject to my other client’s projects. I take a limited number of clients at a time on a first-come, first-served basis that is locked in with a deposit.

What if I don’t like what you design? I understand that design is subjective. Everyone has different styles and tastes. Because of this, it's important on the front end that I fully understand your vision for your brand or website. I have my clients fill out questionnaires so I have specific information needed to decide our brand strategy. We will also spend time talking about this as well as sharing photos so that I understand your style and vision. Then, once I have a draft, we will go through pre-determined revision rounds. This will give you the chance to make changes, request different colors, and air any concerns you have. I ask that all feedback is specific and in line with the strategy that we have set from the beginning. I guide all my clients on giving effective feedback. I want you to be honest and not hold back requests because you are afraid of asking for a change. It is my desire that you love the final product, and I will do everything I can to make sure that is the case. I have found that the thoughtful process I have curated draws out great results that my clients are happy with.

What if I need something not listed here? I would be happy to adapt your proposal to your project’s specific needs within the scope of my skill set. In our strategy call, I will get an idea of what you are looking for and then send you a proposal for that work.

How do installments work For each phase of the project, I ask for half of the project investment up front and half after before final files are delivered or a website is launched. This allows us both to be invested from the beginning, but for you not to have to worry about coming up with the full investment immediately. I am open to discussing a customized installment plan if you prefer so that you can move forward on getting an effective brand and website sooner and start the journey to getting an ROI faster.

What file types do you provide? I provide a full suite of file types needed for various uses such as print, web and social media. These include pdf, jpeg and two sizes of png and svg. I also include instructions on how and when to use them. Although it is uncommon in my industry, I do provide native files. These are the original files that I designed your logo, business cards or other assets in. Many designers choose to hold on to them so that a client has to return to make any changes in the future. But my hope is that you will return because you enjoyed working with me, not because I still have your files. I know, being on the other end of the equation, it is frustrating not to have a file available to make a slight change or export a different size.
